Don't Stop Dreamin' Changes Lives

Most can probably relate or know someone who has experienced having a relative become a resident in a nursing or assisted living home. The isolation can be grueling. The loneliness can be cumbersome, and hopefulness can fade away. Residents can begin to feel like the life they once had is merely impossible; for others it may just be that.
That is where Don't Stop Dreamin' comes in. DSD is a non-profit organization that aids to eliminate these feelings of residents across six counties in Western Pennsylvania nursing homes. DSD is a newer non-profit, but continues to grow each and every day. The board of directors are passionate about reaching everyone who requests a dream and sharing the hope with those that know nothing about the mission.
The creation of an organization like DSD was just an idea in early 2005 when Mary Susan Tack Yurek longed for a way to fulfill dreams of long-term care residents. As the Chief Quality Officer of Quality Life Services, Mary Susan has personally observed the plagues of loneliness, helplessness, and boredom that nursing home residents can experience.
Dreams are granted continuously as the volunteer board of directors works tirelessly to see dreams to their successful completion. To date, Don’t Stop Dreamin’ has fulfilled over 50 dreams including horseback riding, helicopter rides, casino jaunts, a 58th anniversary dinner, a wedding ceremony, and many more.
Become a part of what Don't Stop Dreamin' is all about by visiting Facebook, Twitter, and the website. Supporters can make tax-deductible donations to fund resident dreams and change lives.
Don't Stop Dreamin' changes lives; maybe even your own.
