Featuring Jennifer Moody, Director of Nursing at Countryside in Mercer, PA. Jennifer is new to the dream granting process, but enjoyed her first experience.
Recently Don’t Stop Dreamin’ enabled
six residents and six Quality Life Services staff to enjoy an afternoon full of
hockey, food, and fun. The residents attended a Pittsburgh Penguins game in a luxury suite on March 28 donated by
the Pittsburgh Penguins Foundation.
One of the staff who attended was
Jennifer Moody, Director of Nursing at Countryside in Mercer, PA. Moody has
been an employee at Quality Life Services for four and a half years, but this dream was a first for her. “This was my first experience with Don’t Stop
Dreamin’ so I am excited to see what we can accomplish together in the future,”
said Moody. “[My favorite part of the dream granting process is] the look on the recipient’s face while the dream is being met, and the conversations over the next few days after the dream.”
The Penguins dream didn't stop even after
the last goal was made. “Following the Penguins game, our recipient was so
excited about our adventure,” Moody exclaimed. “For days he talked about it and
each time I would pass him in the hall he thanked me for going. He could not have been more appreciative for
this opportunity from Don’t Stop Dreamin’!”
Moody says she thinks dreams make the residents feel loved and valued. If only one word could describe her perspective on dreams, Moody says it would be hope.
